I think that art and design are activities in constant change. I’m really passionate about what I do and I’m always looking ahead in order to learn about and evolve in the visual language.

Nearly every production was made in a highly collaborative environment. Thanks to the effort made by producers, technicians and artists, we’ve created pieces of great relevance and artistic quality. In each particular case, I worked as a designer and art director.

BIOGRAPHY

My name is Fernando Hereñu. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April, 1977. I majored in Graphic Design at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), where I acquired knowledge about communications, art and design. I would later apply this knowledge in different media and platforms.

I worked in Cartoon Network as a digital designer for four years, a period in which a few changes in the habits of entertainment consumption became apparent. Consequently, newinteractive experiences and casual videogames were developed under Hanna-Barbera’s, Warner’s and Cartoon Studios’ IPs.

Due to the interest in finding new ways of communication and entertainment, I became a part of MP GAME STUDIO as an art director (MP founders: Angel Mazzarello, Fernando Piccolo - Partners: Diego Canepa, Ignacio Alles, and myself). MP has stood out for giving high quality technological services to Nickelodeon, Microsoft, Cartoon Network and FOX.

There we could produce more than 40 video games on different genres (shooters, graphic adventures, sports games, educational, hidden objects and platformers).

Five years later, MP was bought by VOSTU, a company dedicated to social games. Now the team could start creating intellectual properties of its own. Our titles included Top Farm, Find & Climb, Gol Mania and Candy Dash, for which we were responsible of the creation of the concept and the publicity of the game. All these games were conceptualized and developed entirely for mobile platforms.

Nowadays we’re still working with the same passion and the same spirit of development.

PIXEL SHOW, BRASIL

I was invited by the hosts of Zupi to present my work and conduct a series of workshops.Pixel Show is the third largest art and creativity event in the world and it carries out conferences, workshops, exhibitions and live painting sessions.
 

TACHE GALLERY, NY

Curators working at the NYC Chelsea-based Tache Gallery selected my 2008-2011 series for an exhibition. After a great effort, we were able to move my collection composed of 20 large artworks. Moreover, a part of this exhibition participated in the New York Affordablefair New York.

BORNENES, DENMARK

The goal of this project is to teach traffic rules to 3-to-9-year-old children throughout a series of educational video games that take place in a virtual city. This work was a co-production between MP and Wegame (Denmark).
